The following blog post was created in the seminar and was asked by many to be posted online to help you construct your email marketing eReports or ebooks.

Make sure the subject line reflects what they registered for. In other words; if they registered for the top six public speaking mistakes and how to avoid them, then your subject line should refer to that content as follows;

Subject line: Here’s Your Top Six Public Speaking Mistakes

Then, you must personalize each of the e-mails that you send out as follows;

Hi {FIRSTNAME},

After you personalize the e-mail then you need a couple of paragraphs of acknowledgment. Simply thank them for their interest and talk briefly about what they will be receiving and what is the benefit.

Example:

Thank you for your interest in my top six public speaking mistakes eReport and how to avoid them. Over the next little while I’ll be sending you some high-value information that you can use in your speaking career or your presentation marketing situations that will help you not only enroll and engage your audience effectively but earn more money.

Today’s chapter talks about why PowerPoint is rarely a good idea.

Enjoy,

Paul Tobey
CEO, Training Business Pros

Your first chapter must be included in the e-mail itself. After you write your name and position above simply followed that with your first chapter. Make sure you give a powerful title to each chapter because titles give it power.

Chapter 1 – Death by PowerPoint

The context of creating your document works in basically four key areas. It’s not necessarily what you write but how you write it that makes your information more interesting and more engaging.

So here are the 4 main areas of creating a high value hypnotically driven e-mail:

1. Start with the problem. The fact is; many people don’t really believe that they have any problems until you literally point them out. For example people who use PowerPoint is what percentage of people who present? In my experience 95% of the speakers that I see use PowerPoint in 100% of their presentation. So what I would want to do is let people know that that PowerPoint is not the most engaging way to make a presentation. So start out your e-mail with what YOU believe to be the biggest problem that they have that, they may not even know they have.

2. The second part of your e-mail is basically three or four bullet points which lay out the details of what you want them to learn, what that solution is, or what the product does and the key benefits. If you just tell them how it works or you tell them what it does that doesn’t necessarily prove to them that the need to use it. You have to tell them what the key benefit is.

3. Summarize all of your points with a very powerful statement which leads them to believe that there is information pending. Never give them everything. Hit the high notes and leave some space for them to think about what there might be extra. So, your sentences would say something like this; while death by PowerPoint is obviously one of your biggest problems, what percentage of the tribe time should you be using it and what you should you do when you need to introduce your PowerPoint slides and when is enough and how to move on to the next part of your presentation.

4. The last part of your e-mail essentially introduces the next chapter. You can either give them the title of the next chapter or information which holds their curiosity and piques their curiosity to read the next chapter and builds suspense while they wait for it.

The aforementioned information is powerful context for e-mail marketing. Please understand that people get a lot of e-mail therefore; yours has to cut through the clutter and reach the reader with power and purpose.

1. Prospects are potential clients. A business needs to increase the traffic to its store or website. The key is to give them a reason to sign up on to a mailing list. ”The money is in the list”. The most impactful way to achieve this is the following:

Social Media (that includes Twitter, Linked In, Facebook, Google +, You Tube, etc)

Cold Calling

Word of Mouth

Advertising

2. Communication – In communicating with clients and prospects, we need 4 – 7 impressions to effectively have our client visit our store or website. This may be achieved through the following forms:

Emails

Telephone

Social Media

Networking Events

3. Presentation Marketing – is following a set format when presenting information to our clients. The content of the presentation may change, depending upon the product/service that the client needs, but the process by which we present, stays the same. A successful close ratio is 20 -30 % of the clients based on the individual business.

4. Follow-up – Customers are not always ready to buy when we are ready to sell . A system of following up with those clients needs to be developed based on your individual business. Generally, you should contact them weekly or bi-weekly until they opt out or buy.

What is the first thing you say to yourself?

What have you set out to accomplish?

How will you be remembered?

IF you’re not already asking yourself these questions then you’re most likely not on the path to accomplishing them. These are life changing decisions and they warrant an answer – you owe that to yourself.

The biggest problem I see is that most people get stuck with “Where do I begin?” Shortly after, an abundance of excuses and “social” events fill time that should be set aside to honestly, set yourself straight.

So, here is a place to start: Promise yourself that from here on out you will memorize and repeat the following at least twice daily…

Empowering Beliefs Mantra

In an easy and relaxed manner,

In a healthy and positive way,

In its own good time,

For the highest good of all,

I desire and intend “State desire #1” and “State desire #2 to come

into my life and into the lives of ALL who hold this intention.

This or something better!!!

By repeating this every day, twice a day, you have just started to mentally profess to the universe that you are on your way. Mental preparation is as important as the physical realm because your mind should already BELIEVE and EXPECT success when it hits you.

If you are committed to accelerating your success rate and you are ready to implement change simply allow the opportunity to give up 2.5 hours of your time for our Agents of Change seminar on April 11 so that you can prove to yourself the level of commitment you have and, to answer your most intimate and inhibiting questions.

Share this empowering beliefs mantra to anyone you think needs it.

Even though it’s been traditionally considered
to be a powerful tool in presentations, my
personal belief system is that PowerPoint
is not only boring it’s ineffective.

Why?

While it might help the presenter keep on track what you may not realize is that keeping on track is not necessarily the best way to give a presentation.

Is it possible that people learn differently?

Is it possible that they have no idea where you are in your presentation?

Keep in mind that if they don’t know where you are then PowerPoint will keep you completely confined to where you have predefined that point to be there for handcuffing you and making you stay on track to something which people may not want.

What I always suggest to people is that if you are going to use PowerPoint, you use it in moderation.

Moderation means turn it on for 5 min. make a point then turn it off. If you don’t turn it off people end up staring at the screen because people have been trained to steric screens and while there staring at screens they’re not listening to you.

In most PowerPoint presentations that I see people generally fall asleep within 5 to 10 min. how much do you think people can learn from you while you’re sleeping?

Here are some things that you might want to think about for your next presentation which will work better;

1. there is a little-known science called suggestology which is the art of activating someone’s natural will to learn. If you don’t know what that is my suggestion is you wait for our next chapter to learn all about it.

2. Get your audience participating because it raises their energy and helps them learn faster and retain more. The matter how you slice it PowerPoint can’t do that.

3. If you absolutely have to keep yourself on track then make yourself notes with headlines in the right context and in the right order so that you have some idea of where you should be. Remember they have no idea where you should be or if you missed anything if you keep the information from them which is impossible to do when you’re displaying it on a PowerPoint slide.

In the end it’s your choice but I’ve always found that the best presentations are the ones that enroll and engage in do not bore people to death. So stay away from PowerPoint because it will be the death of you.

Internet chapter will talk about how to use the little-known art called suggestology which is the absolute key to winning presentations.

Internet chapter will talk about how to use the little-known art called suggestology which is the absolute key to winning presentations.

Whether you believe this to be true or not it’s 100% fact.

That means that 51% of North Americans feel that they got everything they needed to learn from high school teachers. Eventually what that ends up leading to is failure. Because, you’re basing everything you know on a bunch of teachers who may not know everything.

One of the things that had to happened in my life in order for me to achieve some the things that I wanted was to stop being a know it all and basing my opinions on things that I’ve heard about, read about or talked about and to actually learn from people who had what I wanted and for that you need to become a learn-it-all instead of a know-it-all.

One of the ways that I found to learn things really fast and retain a lot more is to use the following five guidelines.

Keep an open mind. People who are know-it-alls generally have very closed minds. The things that they know are obviously things that they’ve heard about but not necessarily things that they’ve experienced. The number one reason why people are not open to learning is because when somebody else comes across their life that seems to know something more than they do it makes them feel bad and they want to avoid feeling bad at all cost. So therefore they keep their minds closed in order to avoid being hurt.

The willingness to accept guidance. the reason why most people are not willing to accept guidance is that they would rather be right. The reason why you would rather be right is because it feels bad when you realize you are wrong. Therefore, many people avoid being wrong by forming strong opinions which keep them on the side of right. However, being right all the time means you are not open to accepting guidance from others. Especially guidance from others who have what you want. On planet Earth you can either be right or you can have what you want but in my experience you cannot have both.

Energy. Energy is everything. Right down to the smallest subatomic particles everything on planet Earth is made up of energy. Humans emit two types of energy; thought and feeling. Feeling is a much stronger form of energy and attracts like energy. Therefore if you are feeling negative you attract negative occurrences. If you are feeling positive and supercharged you will attract huge amounts of success. Staying inside of your comfort zone may pay off by keeping you safe but it will certainly not bring you what you want. Only when you focus your energy on what you want and take action towards that will you see any results.

Participation. Planet Earth requires you to participate in something if you want to learn. People generally do not participate because it requires a commitment on their part to going after something. This is scary for many people because they are afraid that they will fail. However, show me someone that does not make mistakes and I’ll show you someone that just watches television. The ultimate mistake. Life requires participation it’s the only way to learn and the only way to gain experience.

Have fun. Many people go to work day after day because it’s important to pay the bills. The question you have to ask yourself is, “how much fun am I really having?” Therefore, if you are not having fun you are not engaged in what you are doing and therefore will attract more of the same. The reason why many people are unhappy is because they are producing the same results day after day never realizing that the very thing that they have chosen to do is not any fun at all. Therefore, when you are not having fun, you are also not attracting what you want in life. Love what you do, and you’ll never work a day in your life.

I usually lay out these ground rules at the beginning of each and every seminar that I give. It sets the framework for learning and allows people to understand that without these rules it would just be another boring seminar. Engagement is key to success in learning. And following these five rules will allow all of us to share in the learning and get much more out of what we are trying to do and what we are trying to accomplish.

Thank you,

Paul Tobey

One of the best ways to do this is to literally optimize your LinkedIn account to be found not for who you are but for what it is you do.

Did you know that there are employers who are looking for you every day?

Did you know that those employers do not know your name but they are looking for what it is you do?

Does it not been make sense for you to be found for the keyword phrases that they’re choosing in other words what are the skills that you used and what are the keyword phrases that you choose to be associated with your LinkedIn account?

Here are four very powerful ways to optimize your LinkedIn account:

in most LinkedIn accounts people use their headline to tell people what company they work for instead of what they do. My recommendation is that you choose three different keyword phrases that represent the skills that you want to be found for. In other words if you want to be found for public speaking training then use the words public speaking training in your headline.

In the summary of your profile uses the keyword phrase that you want to be found for numerous times. Do not use bios because bios are boring. Tell a really good story and include the keyword phrase that you want to be found for at least three or four times.

Join groups and associations that use the same keyword phrases in their descriptions at the keyword phrases that you want to be found for. This works for two ways; it allows you to be associated in neighborhoods that are considered to be advantageous for you to learn from and it also uses the keyword phrases in your profile which helps your search engine optimization as far as LinkedIn optimization is concerned.

Get yourself at least 20 recommendations. Ask people for them and they will sometimes acquiesce and give them to you not in every case but in most cases as long as you’ve done good work. When you ask them to give you a recommendation ask them to utilize the keyword phrases that you want to be found for when they give their recommendations.

In the end this will prove to people that number one you can be found and that makes you a good marketer and number two it allows you to create the perception in the marketplace that you are an extreme value by focusing on the skills that you have to give and not who you are and what company you work for.

The reason why you would do that is to find keyword phrases that are the most searched but least competitive online so that you can build the amount of traffic based on the number of searches for those keyword phrases.

Once you have a good keyword phrase create some good content. There are systems and processes to be able to create that content quickly however the focus of this article will be on a system called back linking which is how to back link to that article so that it is of extreme value to a major search engine like Google.

The number one reason to back link to your content is so that Google finds corroborating evidence or endorsements online from other websites to prove that that content is good to the end user. The more back links that Google finds to that content the higher it will rank that webpage.

Here are three ways to back link to your website or webpage;

social media is perhaps the easiest way to build back links to your website. Every time you post content online the first thing you must do is what’s called Digg IT. The reason why it’s important to back link from Digg.com is because Google loves day as a social media bookmarking website. Google goes there frequently to find new content that has been posted online. It could take up to eight months for Google to find that new webpage that you created however if you put up back link on Digg.com Google will not only start the ranking process but it will do so within 24 hours.

The second way is to find blog posts of relevant content that you can leave comments on and post what is known as anchor text back links to your webpages. One of the best ways to do that is to use a social media aggregator known as TweetDeck. TweetDeck is a software that works like a search engine for tweets and twitter posts. Look for relevant blogs on this search engine notice TweetDeck find something that you can comment on and leave an anchor text back link.

If you want to raise the stakes and the value of the back links that you get to your website use the same system to find relevant comments on.EDU websites. The reason why a back link from a.EDU website is 10 times more powerful than a regular back link is because Google feels that.EDU website is an authority site and therefore anyone from an authority site that links to your website means that your website is now powerful.

There are essentially five other ways to build back links to your website my suggestion is you research these ways and if you want the quickest way to the finish line click here for more information on one of our advanced search engine optimization and back linking training courses.

one of the greatest tools that companies have is their ability to share information with others. There are number of ways to do this but the biggest challenge is not only finding people with the knowledge and experience to share but also understanding context and how to deliver those learning systems to other people.

Here are the top three learning management systems that I use in my business;

Webinar it webinars are the sleeper secret of 2012. Most people would use something like PowerPoint to deliver webinar that is the most unbelievably boring thing you could possibly do areas for example if you are at the annual HRP a conference how many people and presenters used webinars used PowerPoint in their presentations. The problem with PowerPoint is it actually shows people what your essay before you say and if they’re done reading before you say it there completely tuned out from that point on so my recommendation is you figure out a system to deliver the information first by the number one rule people’s minds which is; ask a lot of questions.

People think in pictures. If you can try to graphically represent your ideas in flow charts, videos and images. Keep the focus on them by avoiding the words I, we, our and in place of that use you, your, them.

Color is important for your headline, if you are directing your audience towards woman then the color of choice is Red. The colour of choice for a male audience is Blue and if you are directing a mixed audience then the universal color is Black.

Create Energy and urgency in the text by using words like; immediate, hurry, now, action packed, expeditious.

State the benefits.

Paint the picture of how it works in the persons mind.

Use the word “Yes!” and positive affirmations.

Stories are an amazing tool to use and be greatly effective – stories are memorable. Use Hypnotic Writing stories to leave a lasting impression.

Testimonials provide credibility – the best testimonial will always come from a credible, recognized source.

My dad taught me that if I worked hard that I would get a good job and I would be able to save for retirement. You may or may not realize this but that old paradigm has somewhat died in the past few years.

It’s not as easy as it once was to get a good job and keep it for 30 years. So, if you’re looking to perhaps make it to retirement with a fair amount of money saved or you’re looking to get greater success in your life, whatever that may be, you might want to consider the number one reason why most people don’t get what they want in life and that is; they simply don’t know what it is that they want.

So what I’ve done is; I came up with a way to figure out what it is you want by accessing the emotional intensity of how you feel as it pertains to what you want. This is an exercise that I’ve learned from Dr. Robert Anthony and have modified it slightly to make it easier for you.

One of the ways to think about this exercise is; what would you like to do, be or have in your life that you do not have right now? Then what you would do is; you would measure the intensity of the feeling that you get after envisioning yourself having that, doing that or being that.

Here are 3 ways that you can use this scale and what the benefits are for you:

Think about the top 10 things that you want in your life that you do not have right now. These could be material things, these could be things to do with your favourite charity, these could be positions that you want to achieve or the type of person that you would want to be perceived as by your community.I always say to people if not just about getting what you want it’s about the actual process of attaining it that’s the most fun part. So think about the end goal. This is called end thinking. If you don’t know where you’re going you will certainly end up somewhere else. So write down the top 10 things that you want in your life and make sure that they are big because nothing big ever got created with a small idea.

The next step is to put yourself in the position of having what you want. Feel about it don’t think about it. Reason and logic have very little to do with this particular exercise. In fact, reason and logic is the number one reason why it won’t work at all. I’m asking you to feel about it way before thinking about it because if you think about it, it makes no sense and therefore you’ll take yourself out of the game because you’re comparing what I’m saying to what you already know and the answer that you’ll get for yourself is; this is nonsense. Try it anyway. Look at your brain and say hey brain,” thanks for sharing” I choose to do this exercise anyway because I’ve really got nothing to lose.

The final step in this process is to measure the intensity of how you feel about each one of the 10 things that you’ve written down. If you have to close your eyes for a few minutes to put yourself in that position then do so. For example if I wanted say, a big white yacht, one of the things that I might do is envision myself parking it. Or I could be out in the open water with a group of nine people enjoying cocktails. Or I could be in a windstorm with nothing but GPS to guide me. Think about every potential situation you could find yourself in and the more you envision it the more you will feel attracted to it and the more you’re attracted to it the more it will be attracted to you. Then consider that in this list of 10 things one of them might be higher than the rest. And the other nine things will happen as a natural result of going after the big one. Measure each one on a scale of 1 – 10, 10 being the highest level of true heart intensity.

In the end, it’s your choice to do this exercise or not. However, my recommendation is that you just give it a try. There is nothing like your current results to tell you how your current system is working. This is another system, another way of feeling, certainly another way of thinking. So don’t discount it until you try. The only reason this won’t work; is your better idea.
